Group dismisses accusation against Kachikwu of using private jet

...says minister cancelled contact for jet hiring on assumption of office

NNPC GMD, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu
The Minister came under fresh attack recently when he was accused of using Private Jet like the former Petroleum Resources Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke.

But in a press statement by its President, Nelly Emma; Secretary, John Sailor and Public Relations Officer (PRO), Stanley Mukoro, the group said it was not true that the Minister uses Private Jet at the expense of the State.

"Our findings have shown that the Minister is not using Private Jet as being accused by frustrated fraudulent subsidy claimers. We want to let those faceless groups and individuals accusing the Minister of using Private Jet  to know that their information is not correct because to show he is prudent, Dr Kachikwu on assumption of office as the GMD and Minister cancelled all contracts for hiring Private Jet for Petroleum Minister and at the moment, contracts of hiring Private Jet no longer exist. This accusation is not unconnected with the total reforms carried out in NNPC by the hard-working Minister. We want the general public to know that the former Group Executive Directors (GEDs) of NNPC affected by the reforms and the fraudulent subsidy claimers are behind this baseless accusation",the group said.

It added that;" We have repeatedly said it that those being hurt by the reforms of the Minister in the Oil and Gas Industry are doing everything to give him a bad name, hence they came out and accused him that he uses Private Jet at the expense of the State, this allegation is laughable, baseless, mischievous and a pure lie against an innocent man."

Writing further, the group said that; "Dr Kachikwu is not a man of wastage and has not tried to abuse his positions as a Minister and the GMD of NNPC. The Dr Kachikwu that we know is a prudent person and patriotic citizen unlike his accusers and their sponsors."

The group stated that; "This is a man who until he was made the GMD of NNPC and Minister of State for Petroleum Resources by our visionary President, was the Africa Vice Chairman of ExxonMobil and he could have been jetting all over the place, but he never allowed anything to get into his head as he remained calm, prudent and calculated. Others would have done otherwise."

According to the group; "The two positions Dr Kachikwu is holding are very demanding and without using Private Jet, he has achieved alot since his appointment. Without Private Jet, he has crisscrossed the length and breadth of the country to check the diversion of Petroleum Products and vandalism and it is the success of his numerous achievements that is giving his accusers who have been feeding fat on Oil Subsidy sleepless nights and doing everything to pull down a God sent man in order to have their way, but it is our prayer that by the grace of God, they will never succeed because Dr Kachikwu is on a divine mission".

" The Minister has resisted the temptation of using Private Jet at the expense of the State because he knows that the Nigerian economy at the moment is not smiling and wastage is not in his character, hence the cancellation of the contract for the hiring of Private Jet and it is therefore laughable for the Minister to be accused of using Private Jet at the expense of the State",the group stated.

The group alerted Nigerians that in the days ahead, those calling for the sack of the Minister and peddling terrible lies against him are going to sponsor more negative write-ups against him, but warned that; "We are not going to accept the campaign of hate against the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources who is pained about the suffering of Nigerians as a result of the fuel scarcity that is now abating across the country as promised by the Minister. We wish to state here that enough is enough."
he Niger Delta Indigenous Movement For Radical Change (NDIMRC) has dismissed allegation against the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Emmanuel Kachikwu that he uses Private Jet at the expense of the State, saying the Minister cancelled contact for hiring Jet on assumption of office.

Buhari urged to disregard latest call to sack Kachikwu

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Emmanuel Kachikwu
An oil monitoring group, the Niger Delta Indigenous Movement For Radical Change (NDIMRC) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to disregard the latest call to fire the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Emmanuel Kachikwu.

The Managing Director of Oil Mogul Nigeria Limited, Nkemjika R. Igbikiowubo Esq had in an open letter to President Buhari on Wednesday, April 6,2016 called for the sack of the Minister, accusing him of gross misconduct.

But in a swift reaction, NDIMRC in a press statement signed by its President, Nelly Emma, Secretary, John Sailor and Public Relations Officer (PRO), Stanley Mukoro, absorbed the Minister of the sea of accusations levelled against him.

The group said that; "We are surprised that some Stakeholders in the Oil and Gas Industry have refused to see anything good in the Petroleum Resources Minister. Dr Kachikwu is busy right now trying to ensure that we overcome the lingering fuel crisis in the country  and yet somebody is calling on the President to sack him. We should allow the Minister to remain focused on his national assignment. These unnecessary distractions from some disgruntled Stakeholders in the Oil and Gas Industry are not healthy in our present situation in the country."

While rising to the defence of the Minister, the group averred that; "All the issues raised against the Minister by the author of the letter are all tissues of lies and we implore the President to ignore him for he do not know what he is doing"

"The Minister for Petroleum Resources that we know is not personally involved in the selection and imposition of Contractors without regard to due process or competence and it is also not true that under Dr Kachikwu's watch, NAPIMS " has shamelessly " allotted high evaluation numbers to companies without proven technical track record or experience to undertake Offshore work on a 'live production platform'. These are cheap lies against the God-fearing Minister who wants the best for the Oil and Gas Industry", the group said.

According to the group also; " We are amazed that the Minister is being accused of using a private jet at the expense of the State and using Consultants to run the NNPC and embarked on changes in NNPC without carrying the staff along. People should stop painting the Minister in bad light; he should be encouraged. It should be noted that the Minister was the Vice Chairman of ExxonMobil before his appointment and now he is the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and same time the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, is it too much for him to use a hired jet for in the critical Oil and Gas Industry? We are calling on the President to be wary of the author of the letter against the Minister and his likes who have vested interests in the Oil and Gas Industry and ready to do everything and anything to frustrate the dynamic Minister."

"Mr President, you know very well that the Minister being hated for no reason is committed to the Change you promised Nigerians and he is doing everything possible not to disappoint you and Nigerians. Dr Kachikwu that we know very well, Mr President, is a man with foresight and his Reform in NNPC is hurting the likes of the author of the letter who have skeletons in their cupboard and still thinking that it is still going to be business as usual," the group added.

The group while advising the author of the letter to tender unreserved apology to the Minister said that ; "This recent attack on the Minister is uncalled for and unacceptable to us. People must resist change and this is what the author who must apologise to the Minister for the unprovoked attack on him has exhibited in his open letter to the president. Our President is too familiar with the  tricks and selfish motivated interests of the likes of the author and therefore his letter must be ignored by our amiable President."

The group also wrote that ;"NAPIMS has played major roles in the upliftment of our Local Contractors and has continued to do it's best for our people. Without NAPIMS,it would have been very difficult for Nigerian Local Contractors to be awarded contracts and therefore, nobody should give NAPIMS a bad name for selfish reasons and we hereby once again give NAPIMS a Clean Bill Of Health".

"It is unfortunate that people do not want to key into the Change and the Reform in NNPC. But the Minister must go ahead with his mission to better the lives of Nigerians", the group posited.

Fuel Scarcity: Support Kachikwu, Group Urges Nigerians

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu
Nigerians have been urged to support the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Emmanuel Kachikwu in his bid to end the lingering fuel crisis in the country just as the Minister has been hailed for wading into the crises within the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).

Making the call, an oil monitoring group, the Niger Delta Indigenous Movement For Radical Change (NDIMRC), hailed the Petroleum Resources Minister over his recent apology to Nigerians over the fuel crisis in the country during a meeting with Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream on the lingering fuel scarcity in the country.

In a press statement signed by its President, Nelly Emma, Secretary, John Sailor and Public Relations Officer (PRO), Stanley Mukoro, the group appealed to Nigerians to support efforts being made by the Minister to end the fuel crisis in April.

The group said it was impressed with the presentation of the Minister during the meeting with Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream and pleaded with Nigerians to give the Minister the needed support to end the fuel scarcity.

While claiming that the fuel scarcity was a pure sabotage by Oil Cabals who are against the reforms being carried out in the Nigerian  National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) by the Minister, the group said; "It is very clear to all now that the Oil Cabals are out to frustrate the Petroleum Resources Minister, but they will not succeed."

According to the group; "As patriotic Nigerians, we should all work against the Oil Cabals who are making things very difficult for our people. We should all partner with the Petroleum Resources Minister, Dr Kachikwu to end the lingering fuel scarcity. There some people out there who are deriving joy from the fuel crisis in order to give the Minister a bad name, we should shame such people and give the required backing to the hard-working Minister."

"There are entrenched interests opposed to the ongoing reforms within the Oil sector and they are those behind the fuel crisis, we must not allow them to have their way and we are glad that the Minister has made it clear to those calling for his head that he will not resign because he has has a job to do," the group stated.

It added that; "We should all give the Minister who is down to earth our supports in this crucial moment; Dr Kachikwu is feeling the pains that we are passing through, he is not insensitive to the plight of the people and he expressed theses pains when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream recently. The likes of Dr Kachikwu are rare and this is why he needs all our supports now to end the fuel scarcity as he has promised. Let us put those who may be out to ensure that there is no end to the fuel scarcity on check. The Minister is pained over the fuel crisis and he is determined to end it now, but we know that there are some elements out there who are not happy with the efforts the Minister is making for Nigerians to obtain fuel without stress, they will fail in their mission".

The group lauded the Minister for wading into the lingering crises within the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), describing it as a demonstration of the willingness of the Minister to end petrol scarcity across the country, adding that;" And this is why we are urging Nigerians to support the Minister who is not happy about the fuel scarcity and we are glad that IPMAN has promised to partner the Minister on the fuel crisis. We want to implore all Nigerians that all hands must be on deck to end the fuel scarcity".

While lamenting the recent verbal attacks on the Petroleum Resources Minister by former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Tinubu, the group said it was uncalled for and advised that; "We should stop throwing stones at the Minister, let us encourage him in his national assignment, the Minister should be allowed to remain focused and not unnecessary distraction from the likes of Senator Tinubu who has entrenched interests in the Oil and Gas industry in the country."

FG denails returning fuel subsidy

Contrary to reports by a Section of the Nigerian Media, the Federal Government has not reversed its decision to remove subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), moreso when there is no appropriation for subsidy in the 2016 budget.

The PPPRA wishes to state categorically that what still exists is Price Modulation Policy, through which it considers and reviews pump price of PMS quarterly.

The Agency also wishes to assure Nigerians that the funds from Over-Recovery in the first quarter (Q1) shall be duly utilized for whatever noticeable imbalance in April 2016 in line with the Price Modulation Principle.

While appreciating the patience of Nigerians, the PPPRA wishes to reiterate its commitment to ensuring seamless supply and distribution of petroleum products in the Country.

Darkness will continue in Nigeria if…Discos

Executive Director, ANED, Mr. Sunday Oduntan
Electricity distribution companies in the country under the aegis of Association of Nigeria Electricity Distributors (ANED) have said that the current drastic dropped in electricity supply in Nigeria will continue as long as gas pipelines vandalism, low generation and other typical challenges are not addressed.

Nigeria’s power generation collapsed completely on Thursday last week at exactly 12.58pm to zero megawatts, and this persisted for about three hours.

Speaking exclusively with TOTALNEWS247, the Executive Director, ANED, Mr. Sunday Oduntan said that the major challenges that have been militating against Nigerians from getting uninterrupted power supply are gas pipelines vandalism, low generation, funding gap and energy theft.

While attributing the last week generation collapsed to vandalism of gas pipelines that supply power stations in the country which he said was cried out by miscreant in the Niger Delta region, Oduntan noted that there will never be electricity if this act continued.

“Every time the vandals vandalise our pipelines they denied gas to go into the power stations and when there is no gas there is no way we can generate any electricity. Those who perpetrated the act are Nigerians. They are people from the Niger Delta,” he explained.

According to him,” the secondly reasons why we have drastic dropped in supply is that what we are generating is too low. Presently we are generating averagely 5000megawatt when we need about 20,000megawatt.  If you have 20 children and the food you have at home is only enough for five children. That means only five children can eat at a time and the other 15 children will starved. Unless we generate more and stop vandalism in the Niger Delta region there will continue to be darkness. It has nothing to do with us. We can only distribute what have been generated and send to us.”

He also said that funding gap is another challenge the sector is battling with. Oduntan explained that; “if a Disco spend N3.5billion to buy electricity in a month, the company would only able to collect N2 billion. Who will account for the losses of that N1.5 billion? The gas suppliers, generation companies will want their money. How do you pay them if the collection loses are too high.”
While lamenting on the rate at which Nigerians engage in energy theft, he said that; “everywhere in the country today people are steeling or tapping energy without paying for it. Unless we come together and be resolute, the problems of the sector will never be solved. Nigerians should make it their obligations that in every month their first priority after collecting their salaries is to pay their bills. Nigerians have the culture of nonpayment. Even the government owes us N50billion.”

He appealed to Nigerians to change their habit of nonpayment, adding that they only pay 40 percent of their bills.

According to him, government needs to up their game in other to stop vandalism, stating that they need to gather more intelligent and go after the vandals, urging Nigerians to join hands with the government to solve the problem of the power sector.

Meanwhile, the electricity generated by all the generations’ companies is 3,651.46 megawatt according to data obtained by our correspondent from Federal Ministry of Energy.

According to the data, peak generation stands at 3,857.4mw, energy sent out is 3,569.47mw and peak demand forecast remains 12,800mw.

Firm vows to generate 9,600MW for Nigeria in two years

In its quest to contribute its quota to the power sector in Nigeria and find a lasting solution to the problem inadequate power supply in the country, Prince AdeS Oke International Ventures has vowed to generate 9,600 megawatt for Nigeria in two years through sola power.

The Managing Director of the company Prince Timothy Okedele who made disclosure in an interview with our correspondent said that they are determine to help the nation get out of its energy crises by providing an innovative complete stand alone solar system that needs solar panel for just only 8 second which will result to electrical energy continuous for 30 years.

The new solar energy invention generator which he referred to as nuclear replacement plant will be constructed within 2years and will generate for Nigeria 9,600MW of power.

According to Okedele who is the African Exclusive consultant and representative of the inventor of the new energetic solar Quantum Physic generator, the plant is strategic and power is available for use at different stages of its construction.

“Over the years, engineers have used a variety of sources to power submarine. However, It was not until 1955, when nuclear was first used in the USS on the Nautilus, that submarines were able to patrol beneath the surface for months at a time. Electric batteries which was important for backup power, simply did not last long enough, The British sub porpoise had thousands of battery-cells, but could only pro-vide power for two or three days. Deswell engines were powerful, but required a fresh air supply, so were only useful for the surface. Like other power sources, nuclear reactor create heat, which makes steam to drive electric generators and to power the turbines that make the propeller tune. Since nuclear reaction does not require an air supply, It has proven to be a superior source of power, the Ohio-class of submarine refuel only once every nine years, When we talk about nuclear submarine (some people think about complicated technology) the nuclear reactor create heat, which makes the steam to drive electric generator.”

“My technical partner inventor can create 4191watts with a quantum camera (box) of 95 cm cubic subject to expansion to meet up any energy demand. So our box can replace the reactor and any other source of energy, we can connect more than one or make a bigger one.”

He noted that as the African Exclusive representative and marketer to foreign technologist and manufacturers, he is ready to present well over 12 globally tested and trusted manufacturers of various innovative technologies, scientists, inventors and investors to the government  for scientific and technological development.

Okedele stated that this step is instrumental to attracting other foreign investors who will naturally come to invest here.

Demanding executive attention, Okedele requested that he would like to work with the federal, state and local government as consultant on renewable energy actualization and climate change mitigation, armed with this opportunity.

Okedele vowed he would be the first to facilitate the build of manufacturing factory for the production new millennium solar panel, solar module solar cell, solar Wafer and new energetic solar generator of 4191Watts would be good for Africa to grow industries and maintain clean environment.

Inadequate Power Supply: Nigeria needs comprehensive energy audit- Expert

By Oluwagbenga Bankole

Nigeria would require a comprehensive energy audit to have total energy required for the entire load demand of the country.

This is the opinion of a foremost renewable energy promoter who is also the Managing Director of Prince AdeS Oke International Ventures, Prince Timothy Okedele in an exclusive chat with our correspondent.

He noted that this statistical data would consequently guide the government in its strategies, cost and technological approaches for solving the nation’s nagging and epileptic power situation.

He added that most Nigerians approximately 95 % have been hitherto oblivious of the total energy demand for their homes and offices hence they reliance on assumption of figures for their energy consumption.

With a comprehensive energy audit, he said Transmission Companies (TRANSCO) and Distribution Companies (DISCOs) would be able to put their system facilities in good shape and quality state for efficient evacuation and distribution of all energy generated to meet up with the demand and supply of energy to Nigerians

He promised to sacrifice 20 per cent each of his gratuity and pension upon receipt to support the government of President Muhammadu Buhari/Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the economy of his home State, Osun to help support the solution to the age-long power crisis of the country and the economy of the state.
