Presidential Election: Akinjide, Folarin, Ladoja Lose LGAs To Opposition

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Jumoke Akinjide and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin have lost their local government areas to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The two prominent PDP Chieftains are both from Ona-Ara local government area of the state.
In the presidential election results announced by the returning officer for the area, Babs Olu Akinremi, the PDP scored 7,009 as against the 10,482 votes by the APC.

Also, the governorshaip candidates of Accord Party, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Seyi Makinde of the Social Democratic Party lost their local government areas to the APC.

The state INEC has released the results of 18 out of the 33 local government areas in the state. according to the result, the APC won in 16 while the PDP won two.

The APC won in Oyo West, Atisbo, Ona Ara, Ibarapa East, Atisbo, Ido, Oluyole, Afijio, Kajola, Oorelope, Irepo, Iseyin, Oyo East and Saki West while PDP won in Orire and Itesiwaju local government areas.

Meanwhile, in Afijio local government area, elections were cancelled in three units because the voters had no PVCs. Also, in Oluyole Ward 10, Unit 8, election was cancelled over alleged over voting.
