Brand Communicator rewards outstanding women in Marketing Communications

In its quest to recognize and celebrate women who have weathered the storm and have risen through the ranks to attain remarkable height in the field of marketing and marketing communications, frontline brands and marketing journal, Brand Communicator, have awarded outstanding women in the industry in six categories.

The award which seek to inspire the entrepreneurial spirit in women towards creating and sustaining enduring marketing and communications industry businesses, and provide a mentorship platform for young and prospective professionals was held at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre yesterday.

In the first category which is Fast Moving Goods, owner of ATQ Magazine Mrs. Ikechi Uko was adjudged the outstanding female professional in the category. The second category, Creative Advertising was won by the Managing Director of STB Mccan, Mrs. Omowumi Owoduni and Out-of-Home category went to Ify Onukwuba of NAS Advertising.

In the same vein, MTN Nigeria General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Miss Funmi Onajide went home with the outstanding female marketing professional, Telecoms. First Bank of Nigeria Head of Marketing & Corporate Communication, Mrs. Folake Ani-Mumuney won the outstanding Female Marketing Professional in the Financial Service Category. The last category of the award which is Outstanding Female Professional in Public Relation went to the Chief Executive Officer of Sesema PR, Mrs. Alima Attah.

In his speech after receiving the award, ATQ Owner Mrs. Ikechi Uko said that it has been a fulfilling journey in marketing for her. “I will not stop in my quest to make positive impact in the industry,” Uko disclosed.
STB Mccan Managing Director Mrs. Omowumi Owodunni said that she has been in the industry for 27years. “It takes a lot of hardwork for me to still be relevant in the industry,” Owodunni said.

While receiving her award MTN Nigeria General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Miss Funmi Onajide commended Brand Communicator for bringing up the initiative to recognize the impact of women in the industry.
