The state Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adebanjo, who paraded the suspect in Benin, said Akpan who is a gateman, was alleged to have raped his boss’ daughter in one of the rooms in the house.
Adebanjo also said some suspected cultists have been arrested by operatives of the Edo police command.
He said nine cars, 20 guns, 192 cartridges and 12 light weapons were recovered from the suspects.
The police command stated that the Edo State remains the most peaceful in the South-South region, following adequate police synergy with all and sundry in the state.
He appealed to all citizens of the state to co-operate with the police to rid the state of criminals.
