Nigeria’s music superstar, 2face
Idibia, made his first public appearance on Saturday, September 6, exactly two
weeks since the untimely death of his father, Michael Idibia, in Abuja.
The
singer, whose father died as a result of cancer on Saturday, August 23, 2014,
was the guest judge at the MTN Project Fame West Africa nomination show over
the weekend.
The star watched a total of nine contestants perform some of his
most popular songs on stage, seemingly impressed with what he saw the
contestants do with his new and olds songs including ‘For Instance,’ ‘Ole,’
African Queen and other classics before he went on stage himself to entertain
the audience.
known and widely respected for his calmness and humility, 2face
was surprised the contestants could dress like him and even emulate some of the
mannerisms usually attached to his performances when he started out long ago.
Unlike other stars who have taken turns on the seat, he was not overly critical
but calmly encouraged the contestants. 2baba, as he is popularly referred to,
was a delight to watch as he delved into some of the old songs as well as new
songs from his 6th album, Ascension.
