The Uruguay striker has been played out of position at Barca since his summer arrival from Liverpool.
Gullit doesn't believe Suarez fits into Barca's playing system and is surprised the deal even went ahead.
"It was a surprise for me that Suarez went to Barcelona," the former Chelsea manager admitted. "I do not know if he stays there long."
Suarez's contract with Barca runs to 2019.
