A good marketer must understand its consumers- Onubogu

The Executive Director (Commercial) of Promassidor Nigeria Limited, Mr. Kachi Onubogu has said that marketers who are willing to succeed in their profession must understand their consumers.

Onubogu made this known while delivering a lecture on the topic ‘The Role of Advertising in Brand Building’ at the 2014 edition of ‘Mike Agbakoba’s Memorial Lecture’ held recently at Planet One Marry-Land, Lagos.

The MARKETING EDGE marketing personality of the decade described the consumers as the most important people in the journey of marketing, stating that their importance is second to none.

In his word, “if marketers don’t understand consumer needs they won’t gain anything. Marketers need to understand the present and the future need of their customers.”

He stated that marketing is about creativity, adding that when you detach creativity from marketing, the value will be lost.

The former Marketing Manager of Guinness Nigeria PLC described marketing as taking risk and added that it is the most interesting part of any organization.
