Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has no intention of ever
coaching Barcelona again, he told a Catalan newspaper this week.
After a playing career that included 11 years at the Nou
Camp, Guardiola managed Barcelona to three straight La Liga titles and two
Champions League crowns during his four seasons in charge from 2008-2012.
But he then resigned, citing fatigue, and took a year off
before taking over Bayern before last season.
His legendary status at the club has led many fans to wonder
if the 43-year-old would ever return, but Guardiola told Ara, "No, in
principal, I've no intention of ever coaching Barca again.
"I think that there are cycles in life and that mine
[at the club] is finished."
Guardiola did say that he would like to one day return to
live in the Catalan capital, where his wife Cristina still resides, but he did
not specify how long he expected his tenure to last.
"My wife works here and the idea is to come back here
to live at some point. When? I've no idea," he said.
