Maigari, Pinnick in fresh cold war

Certainly, these are not the best of times for the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) elected at the controversial Warri congress, Amaju Pinnick as he and his immediate predecessor, Aminu Maigari, have entered into a fresh cold war over the choice of Secretary General.

While Maigari had anointed Dr Sanusi Mohammed, his most trusted aide to take over the management of the secretariat in the place of Musa Amadu, Amaju Pinnick after assuming
office realised he would need a more proactive scribe to help him better manage the secretariat.

Our source who is in the know said, Maigari had informally elicited a commitment from Pinnick pre-election about the choice of Mohammed, who was the Secretary General de facto in the last four years. After the election, Pinnick realised so many factors why he cannot allow Mohammed take such a sensitive position given the type of proactive administration he wanted which the latter may not be able to cope with.

This is the cause of the fresh cold war between the two of them. Presently, Maigari told some of his close confidantes that he would wish the Okechukwu Ajunwa panel will nullify the entire election so that he (Maigari) will atone for his sins and help Shehu Dikko to emerge in a fresh election.
