Digital billboards are making the traditional boards look ordinary- Kola Oyeyemi



The president of the Advertisers’ Association of Nigeria (ADVAN), Mr. Kola Oyeyemi said that advancement in technology which has affected digital billboards positively is making the traditional boards look ordinary.

While speaking on the theme of the ‘Marketing in the 21ST Century’, at this year ADVAN awards for marketing excellence 2014 which was recently held at the Muson center Lagos,  Oyeyemi said that technology advancement has help the 21st century marketing in all spectrum.

He noted that technology has given immediacy to research. He said: “. Today, it isn’t enough to be tech-savvy and marketing-smart. There’s also a pressing need to understand the growing assortment of opportunities and risks that confront today’s enterprise.”

In his word: “we operate in an environment that is fast changing and we need to go along with the changing. The future we are waiting for is here already.”

Digital Billboards has been perceived to be more beneficial compared to static signage because content that updates frequently can be digitally updated, saving the cost of printing. Digital signage also has the ability to be interactive with imbedded touch screens, movement detection and image capture devices.
