REVEALED: Reasons why Pinnick was after Keshi’s job

Today, we can reveal the real reasons why coach Stephen Keshi has been under the hammer of the factional President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, who is also the chairman of the Delta state sports commission.

Keshi is from Illah in Delta state. When he led the team to win the Nations Cup last January, one of the states they visited was Delta where the elated governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan announced N4million gift for each of the players.

Keshi was also told that the state government will build a befitting accommodation for him. As at today, the house has remained a mirage. Keshi has the land but not the house. Some forces who are angry at some developments blocked the completion of the project till date.

However, according to some people who know, when the money was released, each player got N2million. As it is with players, they naturally complained because the governor made the declaration in a recorded engagement.

Keshi’s sins included the fact that he allowed the players to complain. Since then, Keshi and chairman has been at loggerheads.

These issues remain in the realm of speculations and allegations. Some of the players contacted said it is true that N2million was what was released to them from Delta state.

To prepare the grounds, Pinnick Amaju visited the coaching crew on Monday in their Bolton White Apartment where he made his church pastor to pray and wade off the spiritual issues surrounding the team through a telephone call. He spoke with all sense of responsibility assuring the team of their support. He urged the players and officials to put in some extra efforts in the match against the Sudanese in Abuja.

Keshi and his technical crew members were not shocked about the alleged decisions to sack his team. When the decision got to the team, they only sneered at the decision.

It was sad that when the Sudanese equalised the goal at the National Stadium in Abuja, former chairman technical committee, Barrister Chris Green, was full of jubilation. He was spotted jubilating. He was alleged to have been behind the sabotage schemes involving the matches of the team in Calabar and in Omdurman where the Eagles lost.

As the news hit the camp, it was like a mourning mood. Some of the players cried. Many of them left for their clubs with heavy hearts wondering why their coach will be so treated.
