As part of efforts aimed at reinforcing the newly –found peace within the nation’s marketing space, the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), has inaugurated members of its Election Committee.
The election, slated for November 6, 2014 in Kaduna, this year, has been described by marketing professionals, practitioners, academics and students as a logical conclusion to a tortuous journey.
Members of the five- member committee include Mr. Chidiebere Nwankpa –Chairman, Mrs. Ebisan Onyeama) member, Mrs. Onome Odili member, Dr. Haliru Bala member, and Barrister Ismail Ajibola as the Committee’s Secretary.
In his remarks, the chairman of the committee used the opportunity to unveil the 24-point election guidelines, which include qualification of contestants, sponsorship, nomination form, voter’s qualification and voting, campaign, manifesto night and others, as approved by the council.
It could be
recalled recently that the two fractions of the marketing institute which are Nigerian
Marketing Association (NIMARK) and the Chartered Institute of Marketing of
Nigeria (CIMN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to effect the unification
of the institute.
The NIMN Act effectively merged the two erstwhile independent bodies and conferred chartered status on the new professional body to regulate and control the practice of the marketing profession.
